Formación

• 5+ years’ post-qualification experience in a Technical Manager or Design Manager role.

• Knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, BCAR and statutory approvals.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• I'm currently working with a leading residential developer who is looking to appoint an experienced Technical / Design Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to take responsibility for the technical and design coordination of large-scale residential developments, ranging from 250 to 600 units, from post-planning through to procurement and construction commencement.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing consultant teams, coordinating technical information and ensuring designs are delivered in line with project programmes, statutory requirements and construction needs.

The Role

• Manage the technical and design delivery of residential developments from post-planning through to construction commencement.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, civil, M&E and specialist consultant information.
• Manage design programmes, deliverables and key project milestones.
• Lead design team meetings and ensure technical issues are progressed and resolved.
• Review designs for buildability, value engineering and alternative construction methods.
• Coordinate planning condition discharges and monitor statutory approval requirements.
• Work closely with engineering teams on utility connections, service diversions and technical submissions.
• Ensure technical information is coordinated and issued in line with project requirements.
• Review technical submissions, drawings and specialist subcontractor proposals.
• Support procurement and pre-construction through the timely delivery of design information.
• Identify and manage technical risks that could affect programme, cost or buildability.
• Work closely with commercial, engineering and construction teams to ensure design requirements are understood.
• Monitor compliance with Irish Building Regulations, BCAR and relevant technical standards.
• Maintain accurate records of approvals, technical documentation and outstanding design actions.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years' post-qualification experience in a Technical Manager, Design Manager or similar role.
• Previous experience within a residential developer, architectural practice, consultancy or main contractor.
• Strong experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
• Experience working on residential or mixed-use developments.
• Strong understanding of the residential development process from planning through to construction.
• Knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, BCAR and statutory approval processes.
• Ability to review technical drawings and identify design coordination issues.
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Experience with large-scale residential developments is highly desirable.
