TLI Group Ltd in Tralee seeks an experienced Team Lead – Civil & Structural Design Engineer to manage a renewables design team from feasibility through construction. The role involves coordinating grid and substation interfaces and delivering large infrastructure projects.

Office-based with occasional site travel; leadership and stakeholder management are essential. A deg in Civil/Structural Eng, 10+ years of experience, and PSDP exposure are required to excel in this role.

Qualifications

• Ideally 10+ years’ experience.
• Experience in managing design teams & delivery of large infrastructure, utilities or renewable energy projects.
• Proficient with MS Project, Teams, Excel, Word, Email.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil-3D/REVIT, Tekla.
• Degree qualified in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Experience in a PSDP role.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Experience managing Client relationships from pre-works to project completion.
• Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrate ability to build strong working relationships with project team & stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and successfully manage renewable design projects, from tender to design completion, and through to completion on site
• Manage, mentor and co-ordinate the civil/structural design team personnel
• Deal directly and effectively with relevant stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle e.g. Renewable developers, Local Authorities, ESB Networks, GNI, Iarnród Eireann, landowners, legal profession etc.
• Develop, implement and monitor project costs, budget plans & programming (Update weekly P&Ls)
• Tender submissions - preparation of necessary documents for inclusion in tenders
• Manage project programmes for the design process and construction supervision
• Review design drawings during the design phase and prior to formal issues
• Manage RFI schedules, through the design process
• Co-operate with HSQE, Design, Quality, Commercial regarding ISO procedures
• Travel to site when necessary for design meetings

Description

The TLI Group Engineering team wish to hire an experienced Team Lead – Civil & Structural Design Engineer to join our growing multi-disciplinary design team.

TLI Group design, build and maintain vital services, connecting people on behalf of our customers. This role is primarily office based, with occasional travel to site. It predominantly relates to the management of renewable design projects through the various lifecycle stages (e.g. feasibility, design, planning, tendering, construction design support etc)

The Team Lead – Civil & Structural Design Engineer will manage a large renewables focused engineering design team in the delivery of grid & substation design (20kV – 400kV) and all associated infrastructural requirements.

There will also be a requirement to manage the interface between with electrical grid & substation design teams and co-ordinate timely information flow between these multidisciplinary teams in advance of construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and successfully manage renewable design projects, from tender to design completion, and through to completion on site

• Actively co-operate with internal departments. HSQE, Design, Quality, Commercial regarding implementation of ISO 9001, ISO14001 & ISO 45001 procedures as required.
• Travel to site when necessary for design meetings as required

Qualifications & Skills
