Job summary

Barden, partnering with a Cork-based client, seeks a Tax Manager to own the tax function and shape strategic direction across Ireland, the UK and Europe.

Reporting to the CFO, you will lead compliance, transfer pricing and risk management, influence structuring of acquisitions and joint ventures, and act as the primary contact with tax authorities. Hybrid, full-time, with a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant and/or CTA with corporate tax background.
• Experience at a similar level in an international organisation.
• Strong Irish and UK tax knowledge, with European exposure.
• Transfer pricing and IFRS tax accounting experience.
• Commercial, practical, and a clear communicator.
• Infrastructure experience an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Set the tax direction for the group.
• Protect and release cash through tax planning.
• Shape tax structure for acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures.
• Oversee compliance, transfer pricing, and risk in Ireland, UK, Europe.
• Be point of contact with tax authorities.
• Collaborate with finance, treasury, legal, and advisers.

Barden is delighted to partner with one of our clients in Cork, an excellent employer, as they look to hire a Tax Manager.

The business is at an exciting point in its journey, and this is the moment to take ownership of tax and lead the function. This is a strategic role reporting to the CFO, with real involvement in transactions and in structuring deals, so you will help shape where the international group goes next.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Set the tax direction for the group
• Find ways to protect and release cash
• Shape the tax structure behind acquisitions, disposals, and joint ventures
• Take charge of compliance, transfer pricing, and risk across Ireland, the UK, and Europe
• Be the point of contact with tax authorities in the relevant jurisdictions
• Work closely with finance, treasury, legal, and external advisers

ABOUT THE PERSON

• Qualified accountant and/or CTA, with a corporate tax background from a major accounting firm
• Experience at a similar level in an international organisation
• Strong Irish and UK tax knowledge, with European exposure
• Transfer pricing and IFRS tax accounting experience
• Commercial, practical, and a clear communicator
• Infrastructure experience an advantage
