Job summary

GCS Recruitment is partnering with a leading global technology company to recruit a Systems Engineer for their Platform Engineering team. The role focuses on large-scale Kubernetes infrastructure powering cloud-native applications, with strong emphasis on automation and AI-powered tooling.

You will work in a hybrid setup based in Dublin, Ireland, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available platform operations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on Kubernetes in production environments.
• 5+ years Linux systems administration experience.
• Experience with cloud-native technologies including Terraform, Helm, Argo CD or Flux.
• Solid networking knowledge covering DNS, TLS, load balancing, ingress/egress, and firewalls.
• Strong scripting or software development experience in Python or Go.
• Experience with GitOps workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• CKA or cloud certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP) are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage, patch, upgrade, and optimise Kubernetes infrastructure across on-prem and cloud.
• Build and improve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Helm, and GitOps.
• Develop automation and tooling using Python and/or Go.
• Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments.
• Deploy and support networking and storage solutions for Kubernetes workloads.
• Improve monitoring, observability, and alerting with Prometheus and Grafana.
• Troubleshoot production issues and drive reliability improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable cloud infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Kubernetes in production environments.

• 5+ years of strong Linux systems administration experience.
