Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer (Kubernetes) on a contract basis in Ireland. You will design, build and support scalable Kubernetes-based platform infrastructure, collaborating with engineering teams to enable reliable cloud-native deployments.

You'll drive automation with Terraform, Ansible, Python and Go, enhance observability with Prometheus and Grafana, and contribute to GitOps practices.

Qualifications

• Strong experience within Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering.
• Proven hands-on experience running Kubernetes in production environments.
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tooling, including Terraform and Ansible.
• Development or scripting experience with Python, Go or similar technologies.
• Experience with cloud-native tooling, containers, CI/CD pipelines and GitOps methodologies.
• Good understanding of networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, ingress/egress, TLS and firewalls.
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work effectively within fast-paced, collaborative engineering teams.
