Job summary

Vertiv Ireland is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer or Sustaining Engineer to own the product lifecycle for switchgear design. This ETO environment features engineered-for-order projects requiring close coordination with design, manufacturing and NPDI.

The role blends fast-paced design work with manufacturing support, ensuring manufacturability, reliability and issue resolution across production. You will work with Oracle PLM, contribute to improvements in safety, quality and efficiency, and

Qualifications

• 1-3+ years of experience in product design.
• Bachelor’s degree in any relevant engineering field (Electrical Engineering preferred).
• 1-3+ years of experience in 3D modeling / 2D drafting.
• Ability to create and troubleshoot control wiring diagrams.
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability.
• Excellent communications skills – written & verbal.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Switchgear design within Oracle Product Lifecycle Management.
• Improve Design for Manufacturability (Safety, Quality, and Efficiency).
• Provide design support for issues discovered during production.
• Provide design support for supply chain issues.
• Support New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI).
• Ensure quality of ETO design before released to production.
