Job summary

Vertiv Co is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer / Sustaining Engineer to manage the lifecycle of Engineered-To-Order switchgear. The role involves engineering for a high-complexity product and providing manufacturing support across design and production teams.

Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years in product design, experience with 3D modeling/2D drafting, and strong wiring diagram skills. This position emphasizes quality, manufacturability, and NPDI involvement, within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of experience in product design.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience in 3D modeling and 2D drafting.
• Ability to create and troubleshoot control wiring diagrams.
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Switchgear design within Oracle Product Lifecycle Management.
• Improve Design for Manufacturability (Safety, Quality, and Efficiency).
• Provide design support for production issues.
• Provide design support for supply chain issues.
• Support NPDI (New Product Development and Introduction).
• Ensure quality of ETO design before release to production.
