Job summary

Muiriosa Foundation Ltd is seeking dedicated Support Workers for permanent positions in Kildare (Rathangan & Edenderry) to provide person-centred support to adults. You will help individuals achieve their goals and enjoy activities such as swimming, bowling, trains and love of animals.

Roles require enthusiasm, initiative, and the ability to work across flexible rosters including days, evenings, weekends and sleepovers; full training will be provided. Closing date: 21 October 2026.

Qualifications

• FETAC/ QQI Level 5 (Major Award) in Healthcare or willingness to undertake it.
• Ability to use own initiative and plan effectively.
• Experience/knowledge of supporting persons with a range of support needs.
• Valid driving licence for a manual vehicle in Ireland.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong initiative and creativity.
• Flexibility to cover rosters across multiple houses/locations.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centred support to individuals to help them achieve goals and enjoy interests.
• Support participation in activities such as swimming, bowling, trains, and animal-related interests.
• Be adaptable to days/evenings/weekends/sleepovers as required by the needs of the person supported.

We are looking for dedicated Support Workers to provide person-centred support to individuals, assisting them in achiveing their goals and enjoying interests such as swimming, bowling, trains and love of all animals.

This opportunity may be of interest to those who have experience of working with adults with autism, intellectual disability and behaviours of concern. We are looking to recruit staff members who are enthusiastic,outgoing and can work off their own initiative.

• Flexibility of work hours to suit the needs of the individual being supported which may require days/ evenings/weekends/sleepovers
• Full training will be provided.

Essential requirements/qualities of applicant are:

• FETAC/ QQI Level 5 (Major Award) in Healthcare or equivalent (e.g. Health Service Skills, Healthcare Support) or willingness to undertake a relevant QQI Level 5 Major Award.
• Ability to use own initiative and plan effectively.
• Experience/knowledge of supporting persons with a range of support needs.
• A valid licence to drive a manual vehicle in Ireland.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong initiative and creativity.
• Flexibility and willing to undertake roster covering various houses/locations.
• Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role.
