Job summary

Barróg Healthcare in Ireland is seeking a part-time Support Worker to assist individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities. The role covers daily living activities, social outings, and community integration, with shifts from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM and a roistered schedule across weekdays and weekends.

The position requires QQI Level 5 in Health/Social Care or equivalent, or a commitment to complete it, plus a BA in Social Care for Senior roles, CORU registration, and a valid driving

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Major Award in Health/Social Care (or equivalent) required.
• 1 year of experience in a healthcare or social care setting.
• Knowledge of report writing and client support plans.
• Full, clean driver's license (Category B).

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with disabilities/autism in daily living activities and personal goals.
• Facilitate community integration, outings, and recreational activities.
• Practice safe driving and maintain company vehicles (hygiene, presentation, reporting maintenance needs).
• Act as a client advocate and assist in formulating and executing care plans.
• Assist clients with mobility needs and manage challenging behaviors using support plans.
• Provide activity reports to management and attend staff meetings.

• It is expected all new extrants will start at the first point on the pay scale.

Shifts & Availability:

• Roster: Monday to Sunday availability required.
• Hours: Shifts are rostered between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
• Flexibility: Shift lengths vary from 4 to 12 hours depending on service needs

• Social Care Worker: BA in Social Care (QQI Level 7) or relevant field, plus CORU registration as a Social Care Worker.
