Job summary

Corlann in Limerick invites applications for the role of Support Worker. The position covers two main areas: hands-on personal care during the day and assisting People Supported by the Services with development on Individual Plans to achieve outcomes.

Experience or qualification in care, plus a full manual driving license, are required. The role offers permanent full-time and part-time contracts across Limerick City and Environs and West Limerick with pro-rata salary scales.

Qualifications

• Have a minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in an appropriate or relevant field
• Hold a full manual driving license which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being.
• Assist and support People Supported by the Services with development on Individual Plans and achievement of outcomes.
• Support People Supported by the Services in community participation and integration

SUPPORT WORKER

Permanent Full Time & Part Time Contracts Available

Work Locations:

Limerick City and Environs / West Limerick (Newcastle West/Abbeyfeale, Liosmor)

Care Assistant Intellectual Disability 13-point scale €34,881 - €48,434 (pro-rata)

Panels will be formed as a result of the interview process. Candidates who are placed on a panel will be considered for subsequent permanent, fixed term and Specified Purpose vacancies for a period of up to one year.

The role of a Support Worker

Support Workers provide a key-working caring role for a group of People Supported by the Services. This role comprises two main elements. Firstly the Support Worker is responsible for all aspects of personal care required during the day. This includes meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being. Secondly, a major focus of the Support Worker role is to assist and support People Supported by the Services with development on Individual Plan's and achievement of associated outcomes. In addition, a critical component of this role is to support People Supported by the Services in community participation and integration
