Job summary

Corlann is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for roles in Limerick City and Environs / West Limerick. The position offers permanent full-time and part-time contracts with pro-rata salary scales for the Intellectual Disability Care Assistant role.

The successful candidate will provide key-working support, personal care, and help People Supported by the Services achieve individual outcomes while promoting community participation. QQI Level 5 and a manual driving license are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a QQI Level 5 qualification in an appropriate or relevant field.
• Must hold a full manual driving license to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care during the day, including meals and hygiene.
• Support development on Individual Plans and achieve planned outcomes.
• Assist People Supported by the Services with community participation and integration.

Salary

Care Assistant Intellectual Disability 13-point scale €34,881 - €48,434 (pro-rata)

Panels

Panels will be formed as a result of the interview process. Candidates who are placed on a panel will be considered for subsequent permanent, fixed term and Specified Purpose vacancies for a period of up to one year.

The Role of a Support Worker

Support Workers provide a key-working caring role for a group of People Supported by the Services. This role comprises two main elements. Firstly the Support Worker is responsible for all aspects of personal care required during the day. This includes meals, personal hygiene and other related aspects of physical well-being. Secondly, a major focus of the Support Worker role is to assist and support People Supported by the Services with development on Individual Plan's and achievement of associated outcomes. In addition, a critical component of this role is to support People Supported by the Services in community participation and integration.

Requirements

• Have a minimum QQI Level 5 qualification in an appropriate or relevant field
• Hold a full manual driving license which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish roads
