Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Supply Chain co-op in Limerick, Ireland, to join the cooperative cohort and work on real-world procurement projects. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, identify a project with clear objectives, and support sourcing strategies for key suppliers.

You will gain exposure to supplier negotiations, cost analyses, product launches, and adherence to quality and 5S standards while developing practical skills in a fast-paced healthcare tech environment.

Qualifications

  • Enrolled in university in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, BIS or related courses for the duration of the placement.
  • Honesty and integrity; must comply with quality systems and company policies.
  • Self-motivated, flexible and hardworking in a dynamic, results-driven environment.
  • Reliable, dependable and punctual.
  • Organised and capable of multi-tasking.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication with basic PC skills.

  • Duration options: 6, 9 or 12 months – start date discussed with Talent Acquisition at Stryker.

Responsibilities

  • Identify a Supply Planning project with objectives, scope, milestones and evaluation, with team leader and college supervisor.
  • Support cross-functional teams to develop sourcing strategies for assigned suppliers/commodities.
  • Assist in implementing supplier/commodity strategy including spend/supply assessments and make-vs-buy analyses.
  • Represent the voice of the supplier within the organization.
  • Collaborate on contract strategy for suppliers and assist in negotiation and monitoring.
  • Develop relationships with key suppliers and other disciplines within the business.
  • Participate in new product launches by leading supplier selection and RFQ processes to ensure launch deliverables.
  • Contribute to annual cost standards and budgets; ensure quality, safety and 5S compliance.

Job description

This role will be based in our Limerick site.

Throughout the placement, you will be an integral part of Stryker’s 2027 Cooperative cohort.

Tasks and responsibilities may include:

  • Together, with your Stryker team leader and college supervisor, identify a Supply Planning project along with project objectives, scope, success factors, milestones and evaluation.
  • Supporting cross functional teams to develop best in class sourcing strategies for assigned suppliers and/or commodities in support of business objectives.
  • Supporting the implementation of supplier and/or commodity strategy which will include spend/supply assessments, consolidation strategy, sourcing selection, financial and make v's buy analyses.
  • Represent the 'voice of the supplier' in the organization.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders on contract strategy for suppliers and create, negotiate, monitor and enforce when applicable.
  • Develop strong relationships with key suppliers as well as other disciplines within the businesses.
  • Participate in new product launches; lead supplier selection, requests for quotes and insurance that suppliers are clear on product launch deliverables; collaborate with cross-functional teams for successful launch.
  • Responsible for assuring cost standards are established for annual operating budgets.
  • Ensures compliance with the Quality, Safety and 5S Systems.
What you will need:
  • Enrolled in an Irish or Northern Irish university course in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, BIS or other related courses for the duration of the placement.
