Sun Life Financial in Waterford, Ireland invites current third-year degree students to join as an internship supporting the DCS Value Realization Office. The role combines administrative tasks (25%) and project documentation (75%) to assist the Delivery Directors and Project Managers/Scrum Masters.

You will gain hands-on experience in project reporting, meeting coordination, and artifacts filing, while developing presentation materials and status updates under guided supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the administrative contact supporting DCS Delivery.
  • Assist in development and publishing of project reporting for DPM/DCS VROs.
  • Coordinate team and project meetings; capture outcomes and actions.
  • Assist with administration of project details for VRO RTEs and PMs.
  • Develop and publish project updates, statuses and reporting.
  • Take detailed meeting minutes and drive actions to resolution.
  • File project artifacts on the SharePoint site.

Job Description

Reporting to the Director of the DCS Value Realization Office (DCS VRO), this position will support the project delivery team(s) with a wide range of activities that include providing administrative assistance (25%) and project documentation to the Delivery Directors and Project Managers/Scrum Masters (75%).

Eligibility

These internship opportunities are open exclusively to current third-year degree students who are required to complete an internship or work placement as a mandatory part of their degree programme / coursework. Applicants must be returning to their studies following the internship and be able to provide confirmation from their educational institution that the placement forms part of their course requirements.

What will you do?
  • Act as the administrative contact and/or resource supporting DCS Delivery.
  • Assist in the development and publishing of project reporting for the DPM/DCS VROs.
  • Assist with the coordination of team and project meetings; capturing outcomes and action items.
  • As assigned by the Director, aid the VRO RTEs and Project Managers/Scrum Masters in the administration of project details.
  • Assist with the development of results reporting that effectively align delivery health, risk, communication and procurement.
  • As required, support the team with various tasks to ensure project execution; including being accountable in the execution/management of project subtasks.
  • Assist the team in developing/updating project specific presentations, status reports, issue, and risk logs.
  • Help in the development and publishing of project updates, statuses and reporting.
  • Take detailed meeting minutes and actions resulting from Project or Program meetings and drives to resolution.
  • File project artifacts as required, in the departmental SharePoint site in accordance to Global VRO standards.
What do you need to succeed?
  • Some project coordination experience, supporting technical/business project environments.
  • Detail oriented with strong organization, time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good grasp of project management methodologies.
  • Basic understanding of relevant enterprise infrastructure business systems.
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision and with frequent interruptions.
  • Skilled at prioritizing multiple and concurrent assignments within a matrix organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, in particular, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with Outlook e-mail and MS Teams is highly recommended.
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence is an asset.
