Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join a client in Oranmore, Co. Galway.

The role focuses on reinforced concrete and precast design, taking projects from initial design through to production, with responsibility for calculations and high-quality precast components. You will mentor Design Technicians, check 3D models and shop drawings, liaise with customers and contractors, and ensure deadlines are met.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of structural design experience required.
• Experience with precast or reinforced concrete.
• Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering or related field.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from initial design through production.
• Prepare structural calculations for various projects.
• Design precast concrete products per specs.
• Mentor Design Technicians across structural design.
• Review and check 3D models, GA drawings & shop drawings.
• Liaise with customers, design teams and contractors.
• Provide guidance to QS, H&S, manufacturing, site teams.
• Manage workload to meet deadlines.
• Collaborate with internal teams and own projects.
