Job summary

Kilsaran Precast in Oranmore, Co Galway is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to lead design activities from concept through to production. You will prepare calculations for diverse projects, including multi-storey buildings and carparks, and design high-quality precast components.

You will mentor Design Technicians, review 3D models and GA/shop drawings, and coordinate with customers, external teams and contractors to ensure on-time delivery and top-quality results.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience in structural design for precast or reinforced concrete projects.
• Strong communication and organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a range of structural engineering projects from design to production.
• Prepare structural calculations for multi-storey buildings and car parks; design precast elements.
• Mentor design technicians and review 3D models, GA drawings and shop drawings.
• Liaise with customers, external design teams and contractors to ensure timely delivery and high standards.
• Provide technical guidance to QS, H&S, manufacturing and site teams.

Role:

As a Structural Design Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing a variety of structural engineering projects for our clients, from initial design through to production. In this challenging role, you will prepare structural calculations for a wide range of projects, including multi-storey buildings and carparks, and design high quality pre-cast products that meet specifications. Mentor Design Technicians and guide them on all design aspects of the project. Check the Design Technicians 3D models, General Arrangement drawings and shop drawings. Liaising with customers, external design teams and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest possible standard. You will provide technical guidance to our QS Department, H&S Department, Manufacturing Personnel and Site Erection crews.

Skills Required:

• Previous experience in a structural design engineering role with precast or reinforced concrete experience
• A third level degree
• Excellent communication and organisation skills
• The ability to manage and prioritise daily workload
• Focus on deadlines
• The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
