Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist in Ireland to develop and execute supplier strategies for key direct procurement categories. You will lead negotiations, drive commercial strategies, and deliver measurable cost improvements while building strategic supplier relationships to ensure quality and supply continuity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sourcing, or related field.
• 4+ years’ strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier relationship management experience (ideally within manufacturing).
• Proven ability to develop sourcing strategies and manage supplier relationships.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Experience working cross-functionally, influencing stakeholders and delivering multiple projects to tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive, collaborative, and results-oriented mindset.
• Experience in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other regulated manufacturing.
• Sourcing metals, metal components, or direct materials.
• Familiarity with supplier risk management and cost reduction within a global procurement team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and supplier strategies for key direct procurement categories.
• Lead supplier negotiations, drive commercial strategies, and deliver measurable cost and value improvements.
• Build and manage strategic supplier relationships to support quality, supply continuity, and performance targets.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier performance, supply chain, finance, and geopolitical issues.
• Partner with Engineering, Supplier Quality, Operations, Finance and other teams to deliver impactful sourcing projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze market and supplier data to unlock cost-saving and value-creation opportunities, preparing recommendations for stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Lead projects from strategy through implementation, ensuring delivery against objectives.
