Job summary

Pivotal Recruitment Limited is assisting in recruiting a Buyer / Sourcing Specialist for a leading client in the medical device, pharmaceutical, life sciences and manufacturing sectors. The role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier management and cost-saving initiatives.

The successful candidate will manage new product requests, source products, negotiate terms and support sales with technical queries while ensuring timely, high-quality customer service in a fast-paced, on-site environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Procurement or related field (desirable).
• Experience in buying, sourcing, procurement or supply chain roles.
• Experience sourcing products for medical device, pharmaceutical, life sciences or industrial manufacturing sectors (advantageous).
• Knowledge of industrial supplies, MRO parts, critical spares and electrical components is a strong advantage.
• Experience in supplier evaluation, selection, negotiation and relationship management.
• Strong commercial awareness with ability to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ability to understand technical product specifications and identify suitable solutions.
• Excellent negotiation, communication and decision-making skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; SAP ERP experience highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage strategic sourcing of products and suppliers to support customer enquiries and purchasing requirements.
• Source products and technical solutions for customers across medical device, pharma, life sciences and manufacturing sectors.
• Support sales teams with technical product queries and alternative solutions.
• Ensure customer enquiries are handled efficiently within agreed timeframes.
• Negotiate pricing, supplier agreements, contracts and delivery schedules.
• Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs and improve lead times.
• Conduct market research and spend analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
