Job summary

Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA) seeks a Financial Controller for a full-time, permanent role in Clontarf. You will lead financial control, reporting, compliance, and strategic financial leadership for approximately €80 million in annual income from public funding, grants, and other streams.

Working with the CFO and Finance Team, you will strengthen internal controls, oversee month-end/year-end closes, budgeting, audits, and governance.

Qualifications

• Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
• Minimum 5 years' post-qualification experience in a senior financial management role.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organisation's financial accounting function.
• Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial records.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain and improve financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Monitor financial performance and identify risks and opportunities.
• Lead the Receivables process end to end.
• Prepare and review monthly management accounts and distribute to key stakeholders.
• Prepare annual Financial Statements in line with FRS 102 and Charities SORP.
• Provide financial analysis and costings for informed decisions.
• Ensure compliance with funding, regulatory and charity requirements.
• Lead budgeting and financial planning processes.
• Oversee annual audits and liaise with external auditors.
• Lead and develop the finance team and foster improvement across departments.
• Support governance, systems improvements, and digital transformation.
