Job summary

ESB is seeking a commercially minded Finance Business Partner for the B2B customer segment in Ireland. You will partner with senior leaders to provide strategic insights, challenge decisions, and guide profitability and growth initiatives.

The role supports ESB’s strategy to empower customers and decarbonise the electricity system, with a focus on aligning financial planning, performance management and governance across the B2B portfolio.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with minimum 10 years post qualification experience or equivalent.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate financial data into insights.
• Experience supporting revenue growth, cost optimisation, and profitability improvement initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge and support senior leaders.
• Strong financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and performance management capability.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Experience leading and developing a team that collaborates across the finance function.

Responsibilities

• Partner with B2B leadership teams to drive commercial performance.
• Manage the financial performance of B2B businesses.
• Identify opportunities to enhance value and meet long-term strategic goals.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and planning for the B2B portfolio.
• Support development of innovative customer decarbonisation solutions.
• Ensure strong governance and reporting across the B2B portfolio.
• Mentor and develop the finance team to foster high performance.
