Job summary

SYSTRA Dublin is seeking a skilled structural engineer to review elevated stations and depot buildings on-site. You will coordinate with design teams, clients, and contractors to ensure compliant, timely design packages and construction supervision.

The role emphasizes concrete and steel structures review, site issue resolution, and effective meetings to keep the project on track. On-site work and collaboration with international teams are involved.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate review of civil and structural design related to elevated stations and depot buildings.
• Carry out design reviews and prepare Review Comment Sheets with technical comments.
• Monitor RCS list and ensure timely issuance of design packages.
• Coordinate with contractors, designers and other stakeholders to resolve design issues.
• Contribute to Design Management Plan updates and ensure compliance with processes.
• Liaise with external ICE when required.
• Support construction supervision activities, including site audits and hold points.
• Review construction documentation such as method statements and ITPs and monitor execution.
• Report non-compliance with construction management or HSE processes to stakeholders.
• Organize and participate in meetings with client, contractors and designers; prepare MoM and action plans.
• Contribute to weekly and monthly project reporting and risk register.

Context

SYSTRA is the Lead Consultant for the HSR project between Ho Chi Minh City and Can Gio.

Missions/Main Duties

• Coordinate the review of civil and structural design related to elevated stations and depot buildings, including geotechnical and structural aspects.
• Carry out design reviews when required, prepare Review Comment Sheets (RCS) and provide technical comments.
• Monitor and update the list of RCS issued by the Lead Consultant and follow up the issuance of design packages to ensure reviews are completed on time.
• Coordinate with VSP, SGC, contractors and designers to resolve design review issues and support the issuance of SONO.
• Contribute to the update and finalization of the Design Management Plan and monitor compliance with the defined design management processes.
• Liaise with the external ICE when required.
• Support Lead Consultant construction supervision activities, including site audits, hold points and resolution of site issues.
• Review construction documentation, including method statements, ITPs and review forms, and monitor compliance with the Construction Management Plan.
• Report any non-compliance with construction management or HSE processes to the relevant stakeholders.
• Organize and participate in design and construction meetings with the client, contractors and designers, prepare MoM and follow up action plans.
• Contribute to overall project reporting, including weekly meetings, monthly reports and the risk register.

Profile/Skills

• Strong experience in structural design review and construction supervision for elevated stations and building structures.
• Good knowledge of concrete and steel structures
• Experience in reviewing technical and construction documentation and supporting the resolution of site issues.
• Strong coordination and communication skills, with the ability to work with clients, contractors, designers and other project stakeholders.
