Job summary

SiriusXM in Dublin is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Unified Access and Lifecycle Services team within Growth Engineering. You will guide high-throughput, scalable services powering SiriusXM and Pandora for tens of millions of listeners across North America.

You will mentor engineers across Europe (Spain, UK), collaborate with Services, Client SDK, Data Analytics, and drive architecture discussions while upholding coding standards and a culture of ownership.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Expertise in Scala and functional programming.
• Experience designing RESTful web APIs in an enterprise setting.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, including source control, CI/CD and testing approaches.
• Deep distributed systems knowledge in production environments.
• Experience with AWS in production, including compute, databases, storage, containers and serverless.
• Proficiency in asynchronous programming models on the JVM.

Responsibilities

• Lead a geographically distributed group of engineers in Europe (Spain + UK).
• Collaborate with Services teams, Client SDK, Data Engineers, and Data Analytics teams.
• Innovate to build performant solutions that scale with business demands; document architectures as needed.
• Foster a healthy engineering culture and drive best practices.
• Lead high-level architecture discussions and planning sessions.
• Develop simple solutions to complex problems.
• Ensure team-wide code quality through reviews and PR feedback.
• Exhibit accountability at personal and team levels.
