Job summary

Stripe is seeking an experienced technical leader to shape the architecture and technical roadmap for the company Tax. You will work with engineering, product, design, operations, legal, and GTM teams to translate complex tax requirements into reliable experiences for millions of businesses.

You will lead high-impact, multi-team initiatives, make durable technical decisions, and raise the bar for how we build and operate the Tax platform at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of industry software engineering experience building and operating large-scale, distributed systems.
• Deep software engineering expertise, with a track record of sound architectural decisions while remaining hands-on.
• Led complex, multi-team technical programs from ambiguous problem definition to delivery and adoption.
• Set long-term technical direction, identifying high-leverage investments amid uncertainty.
• Exceptional communication and influence skills, aligning senior stakeholders without authority.
• Mentored engineers and promoted data-informed decision making.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical strategy and execution for the Tax product and platform investments from exploration to production adoption.
• Identify high-leverage opportunities and shape the product roadmap for evolving tax regulations.
• Partner with engineering, product, design, operations, legal, go-to-market, and infrastructure leaders to align teams.
• Design scalable, resilient systems and data models meeting high standards for correctness and security.
• Drive interoperability across products and external tax ecosystems to keep the platform extensible.
• Raise the engineering bar through hands-on leadership and mentorship.
