Squarespace is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the monetization platform's core systems, including billing, payments, and orders. Open to remote or hybrid work from our NYC office three days a week.

You will own architectural direction, mentor teams, and ensure technical decisions align with business goals. We value 10+ years in backend engineering, Java and Spring ecosystem expertise, and proven leadership across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience delivering and maintaining complex distributed backend services.
• Experience with Java and Spring Boot ecosystems.
• Leading system architecture decisions across multiple teams or initiatives.
• Experience in billing, payments or order systems at scale.
• Ability to serve as a technical lead on cross-functional projects.

Responsabilités

• Own system architectural vision for critical areas of our business.
• Translate high-level vision into estimated project plans for initiatives central to Squarespace's strategy.
• Serve as technical lead and cross-functional liaison on business-critical projects.
• Mentor engineers to deliver higher quality with greater autonomy.
• Set the engineering quality bar across billing, orders and payments.
