Job summary

Enable Ireland is recruiting a Staff Nurse / Enhanced Nurse (RIND) for Limerick Adult Services. The role involves nursing duties, personal care support, mobility assistance, and facilitating community access and a virtual day service.

The successful candidate must have RNID qualification validated for Ireland, be NMBI-registered in the ID nurse division, and hold a clean driving licence. 37.5 hours weekly on a permanent contract.

Qualifications

• RNID qualification validated for working in the Republic of Ireland.
• Registered in the Intellectual Disability Nurse Division of NMBI.
• 1 year 16 weeks relevant nursing experience after graduation.
• Maintain annual registration with NMBI.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team within the adult day service to support daily programmes.
• Provide nursing duties and assist personal care needs and mobility.
• Support access to community services and our virtual day service.
• Encourage and support person-centred plans and options.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure safe, high-quality care.

We are currently seeking highly-motivated Staff Nurse /Enhanced Nurse (RIND) to join our team in Enable Ireland Adult Services Limerick, Quinn’s Cross, Mungret, Co Limerick

Contract Type:

Full Time Permanent Contract

Contract Hours:

37.5 Hours per week

Annual Leave Entitlement:

Annual leave entitlement is 33 days pro rata per annum

Salary Scale:

Enhanced Nurse €43,206 to €56,956 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

Staff Nurse €37,060 to €54,111 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.

Overview of the Post:

The role of the Staff / Enhanced Nurse is to work as part of a team within the adult day service to facilitate service owners with their daily programmes. This will also include, providing nursing duties, assisting personal care needs, mobility, and supporting access to services in their community and on our virtual day service. The post holder will encourage and support opportunities to help develop a range of options for service owners in line with their person‑centred plan.

The successful candidate will have:

• Have a nursing RNID qualification validated for working in the Republic of Ireland
• Be registered in the Intellectual Disability Nurse Division of the live Register of Nurses kept by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)

AND

• 1 Year 16 weeks relevant nursing work experience after graduating (to be eligible for Enhanced Nurse role)
• Successful candidate must confirm annual registration with the NMBI to enable Ireland.
• Post holders must maintain annual registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Have the clinical and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role.
• Full clean driver’s licence and willingness to drive service transport.
• Must be eligible to work in state
• Basic IT skills.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience working with adults in a day service setting.
• 1 years’ experience working with adults with disabilities.
• Experience of working in community setting.
