Job summary

Swords Nursing Home operated by Mowlam Healthcare in Swords, County Dublin, Ireland is seeking Staff Nurses to join our team. You will provide compassionate, person-centred care while ensuring residents are treated with dignity and in line with HIQA standards.

You will administer medications, keep accurate records, and liaise with health professionals to support residents and families. A First level NMBI registration is required and Garda vetting applies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure residents are treated with dignity, privacy and respect as individuals.
• Understand and implement the Named Nurse concept and maintain related documentation.
• Establish meaningful relationships with residents, relatives and visitors, providing support and comfort including bereavement care.
• Adhere to Mowlam Healthcare policies.
• Maintain clear, accurate records in line with legislation and Mowlam Standards.
• Ensure proper control, administration and custody of all drugs and medicines.
• Be aware of HIQA standards and participate in inspection processes.
• Ensure admissions are completed correctly with all documentation.
• Liaise with health care professionals regarding discharges to ensure continuity of care.

Swords Nursing Home are currently recruiting Staff Nurses.

What does this role entail?

• Ensure that all residents are treated with dignity, privacy and respect and ensuring they are treated as individuals.
• Understand the Named Nurse concept, its function, and implementation and ensure that all relevant documentation is maintained.
• Establish a personal and meaningful relationship with all residents, relatives and visitors, ensuring appropriate support and comfort is given at all times, especially to the bereaved.
• Ensure all Mowlam Healthcare policies are known and adhered to by all staff.
• Maintain clear, concise, and accurate records within the home in accordance with legislation and Mowlam Standards.
• Ensures the agreed policies and procedures for the control, administration and custody of all drugs and medicines are adhered to.
• Knowledge and awareness of HIQA standards and ability to participate in inspection process.
• Ensure all admissions to the home are carried out correctly and all appropriate documentation completed.
• Liaise with health care professionals as necessary regarding the discharge of a resident to the community to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications:

• First level registration.
• Registered on the NMBI live register.
