Job summary

RecruitNet International Ltd is seeking a Staff Nurse for a leading nursing home in Wexford, Ireland. The role is full-time and permanent, with duties delivering person-centred nursing care in line with NMBI standards and HIQA regulations.

You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, administer medications safely, supervise care staff, and communicate effectively with residents, families, GPs, and the multidisciplinary team to maintain high-quality services.

Qualifications

  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMBI registration.
  • Experience in the care of older persons.
  • Fluent English; strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Garda vetting and overseas police clearance where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, safe nursing care in line with NMBI standards.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately.
  • Monitor, document, and respond to changes in residents' clinical conditions.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to care staff during shifts.
  • Promote residents' independence, dignity and quality of life.
  • Communicate with residents, families, GPs and the MDT.
  • Maintain confidential clinical documentation.
  • Ensure HIQA compliance and participate in quality improvements.

We are hiring a Staff Nurse for one of the best Nursing Homes in Wexford.

Immediate Service Requirement

This role is open only to applicants who hold EU/EEA citizenship or have an existing, unrestricted right to work in Ireland.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, safe, and effective nursing care in accordance with NMBI standards.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans for residents.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately in line with organisational policies and guidelines.
  • Monitor, document, and respond promptly to changes in residents’ clinical conditions.
  • Provide leadership, support, and supervision to care staff during shifts.
  • Promote residents’ independence, dignity, and overall quality of life.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, GPs, and the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with HIQA regulations, policies, and evidence-based best practices.
  • Contribute to a positive, person-centred care environment and continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse (RGN) qualification.
  • Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Strong clinical knowledge with a commitment to delivering person-centred care.
  • Previous experience in the care of older persons.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Garda vetting and overseas police clearance (where applicable), along with satisfactory professional references.
