Staff Nurses for Nursing Homes in Dublin

Responsibilities

• Ensure all residents are treated with dignity, privacy, and respect, and are supported as individuals at all times.
• Understand the Named Nurse concept, its purpose and implementation, and ensure all related documentation is accurately maintained.
• Develop meaningful and professional relationships with residents, relatives, and visitors, providing appropriate support and comfort, particularly to bereaved families.
• Ensure that all Healthcare policies and procedures are understood and adhered to by all staff.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date records in accordance with relevant legislation and Healthcare standards.
• Ensure compliance with agreed policies and procedures relating to the safe control, administration, and custody of all medications.
• Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of HIQA standards and actively participate in the inspection and regulatory process.
• Ensure all admissions to the home are carried out correctly, with all required documentation completed in a timely manner.
• Liaise effectively with healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams regarding residents’ discharge to the community to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

• Registered on the live register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to motivate self and others and to work effectively on own initiative.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and promote a positive team environment.
