Responsibilities

• Ensure all residents are treated with dignity, privacy, and respect, and are supported as individuals always.
• Understand the Named Nurse concept, its purpose and implementation, and ensure all related documentation is accurately maintained.
• Develop meaningful and professional relationships with residents, relatives, and visitors, providing appropriate support and comfort.
• Ensure that all Healthcare policies and procedures are understood and adhered to by all staff.
• Maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date records in accordance with relevant legislation and Healthcare standards.
• Ensure compliance with policies relating to the safe control, administration, and custody of all medications.
• Demonstrate knowledge of HIQA standards and participate in inspections and regulatory processes.
• Ensure admissions are carried out with proper documentation.
• Liaise with healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams regarding discharge to ensure continuity of care.

Liaise effectively with healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams regarding residents’ discharge to the community to ensure continuity of care.
