Job summary

Sonatus, Inc. is seeking a Staff Machine Learning Engineer to lead the development of Edge AI for in-vehicle self-aware health monitoring and prediction. You will own end-to-end ML pipeline, from data ingestion to deployment on resource-constrained edge devices, collaborating with ML/Ops teams and vehicle software experts.

The role is hybrid out of Dublin, with some remote options. You will work on transformers, LLMs, CNNs, and time-series data from CAN bus to detect health issues, optimize

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• 7+ years in Machine Learning Engineering with 3+ years Edge AI or Embedded Systems.
• ,
• Proven mentoring experience and ability to lead projects from concept to production.
• Expert Python and strong C++ knowledge for inference.
• Deep proficiency with PyTorch or TensorFlow and inference engines like ONNX/TFLite/TVM.
• Experience with NLP techniques, sequence modeling, and lightweight LLMs/SLMs.
• Experience deploying to edge environments with memory management for constrained devices.

Responsibilities

• Build and train AI Edge models (e.g., Transformers, LLM, CNN, LSTM) to process logs and CAN data.
• Integrate ML flows with cloud APIs and synthetic data generation.
• Develop algorithms to cluster patterns and detect software regressions or crashes.
• Design models for time-series CAN data and sensor signals.
• Port and optimize PyTorch/TensorFlow models to edge hardware (ARM).
• Apply quantization, pruning, and memory optimization for MB-scale footprints.
• Define data strategy for on-device vs cloud processing and lead edge ML pipeline architecture.
