Job summary

Cisco Ireland's Common Platform Services team is seeking a Software Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain OpenStack private cloud solutions for data center infrastructure in Galway. You will write Terraform scripts to automate compute, storage, and network provisioning, and develop Python scripts to automate cloud operations and workflows.

You will monitor OpenStack performance, troubleshoot platform issues, and contribute to continuous improvements.

Qualifications

BS with 4+ years or MS with 2+ years in software/cloud roles.
Strong knowledge of OpenStack core components: Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, Glance.
Proficient in Python scripting for automation and tooling development.
Solid Linux and data center networking fundamentals; CI/CD experience.
Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and maintain OpenStack private cloud solutions for data center infrastructure.
Write Terraform scripts to automate compute, storage, and network provisioning.
Develop Python scripts to automate cloud operations, workflows, and maintenance tasks.
