Job summary

Enable Ireland invites applications for a Staff Grade Speech & Language Therapist in Wicklow. The post involves delivering a range of SLT services to children and their families across diverse settings, in an interdisciplinary framework, with emphasis on clinical development, supervision and service enhancement.

The role requires CORU registration or eligibility, ongoing annual CORU registration, and willingness to work in a public health context.

Qualifications

  • Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Speech & Language Therapists Register maintained by CORU.
  • Have the requisite knowledge and ability for proper discharge of duties.
  • Provide proof of statutory registration on CORU before contract issued.
  • Eligible to work in the State.
  • Annual registration must be maintained with CORU.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a range of Speech & Language Therapy services to children and families (0–18 years).
  • Engage in assessment, intervention, clinical supervision and ongoing service development.
  • Deliver services within an interdisciplinary framework across clinics, preschools, schools, homes and community settings.

We are currently seeking highly-motivated Staff Grade Speech & Language Therapists to join our teams in Wicklow.

Contract Type: Permanent

Contract Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary Scale: €43,231 – €63,184pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

Annual Leave Entitlement: 32 days per annum

Overview of the Post:

Enable Ireland delivers children’s services through the Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNT) under the national Progressing Disabilities Services (PDS) model for children and young people with complex needs arising from a disability. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a range of Physiotherapy services for young people (0 – 18 years) and their families within an interdisciplinary framework. Service will include assessment and intervention, clinical supervision and ongoing service development. This will be delivered through a family centred approach across a variety of settings including the clinic, preschools, schools, children’s homes and community settings.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Be registered, or be eligible for registration, on the Speech & Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
  • Have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
  • Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Speech & Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
  • Eligible to work in the State.

Annual registration

  • On appointment practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Speech & Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU
  • Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to Enable Ireland.
  • Post graduate work experience as a Speech & Language Therapist.
  • Experience of interdisciplinary team working.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities and their families.
  • Any relevant post graduate training specific to child disability services.
  • Experience in working with Assistive Technology.
  • Post graduate experience in a public sector health service.
  • Experience working on or completing a placement with a CDNT.
  • Relevant voluntary experience working with children or people with disabilities.
