Job summary

European Tech Recruit is partnering with a semiconductor technology organisation in Cork, Ireland, to recruit a Staff Embedded Software Engineer focused on Linux kernel, PCIe and CXL firmware. You will design, develop and optimise embedded drivers and interconnect software for next‑gen chipsets, working closely with hardware and architecture teams.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in embedded software, deep C programming, and hands‑on experience with PCIe, CXL, RTOS, ACPI/UEFI and Zephyr.

Qualifications

7+ years of embedded software development experience.
Strong proficiency in C programming and low-level software design.
Experience with PCIe, CXL, RTOS, Linux kernel, ACPI/UEFI and Zephyr.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, debug and commercialise embedded firmware and drivers for PCIe and CXL subsystems.
Develop low-level software for next-generation chipset platforms.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware-software integration.
Optimise performance, power efficiency and reliability of embedded software.
Contribute to architectural discussions and future chipset planning.
Ensure software complies with industry standards and specifications.
Work with hardware and architecture teams on interconnect technologies evolution.
