Job summary

Udemy is seeking a Staff Data Scientist for its Enterprise Product Data Science team. You will partner with product, design, and engineering to understand customer use, define success metrics, and drive data-informed decisions across Coursera/Udemy enterprise offerings.

You will lead experiments, apply advanced statistics, and use causal inference to measure impact, while mentoring peers and shaping analytics frameworks that scale across portfolios.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on Data Science experience, with product-partnering focus.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Enterprise Product, Design, and Engineering to inform product strategy and roadmaps.
• Own the analytics strategy for your product area, including KPIs and measurement.
• Analyze usage and behavior to understand adoption, engagement, retention, and friction points.
• Design end-to-end experiments, define metrics, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Apply causal inference or quasi-experimental methods when randomized experiments aren’t feasible.
• Use regression, segmentation, forecasting, and predictive modeling where appropriate.
• Collaborate on instrumentation and measurement strategies for reliable analytics.
• Translate analyses into clear data stories for product teams and leadership.
• Develop reusable analytical frameworks and tools for recurring questions.
• Work with Data Engineering on data models and foundations; self-serve when needed.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to best practices.
