Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to lead the modern data foundation across the Orthopaedics Supply Chain. You will design lakehouse architecture on Databricks and AWS, enabling governed, reusable data products for analytics, reporting, AI, and operational decision-making.

You will guide cross‑functional teams, including product owners, data engineers, ML teams, and external partners, to deliver scalable, robust data solutions and implement best practices in data

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 4+ years of professional data engineering experience.
• Strong Databricks, Spark, PySpark, Python, SQL, and Delta Lake skills.
• AWS cloud data services experience; Azure desirable.
• Ability to translate business needs into architecture and executable plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for data foundation modernization with lakehouse architecture and cloud capabilities.
• Design data pipelines and architecture using Databricks, AWS, Python, SQL, Spark, and Delta Lake.
• Develop blueprints for batch, streaming, and event-driven pipelines for analytics and AI/ML use cases.
• Coordinate with Product Owners, Supply Chain, governance, AI/ML teams, and IT partners to align delivery with outcomes.
• Lead architecture discussions ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Mentor engineers and contractors through design reviews and architecture guidance.
