Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Vision Care in Limerick, Ireland is seeking a Staff Automation Engineer to lead development and support of high-speed automated machines across PLC, SCADA, and robot control disciplines. You will work in a regulated production environment supporting quality and safety objectives.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering or equivalent and 5+ years in automation, with strong problem solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
5+ years of automation engineering experience with PLC/Safety PLC, robotics, SCADA.
Experience in high-speed automated manufacturing within regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Develop, install, validate, and support automation control systems in a highly automated plant.
Design and implement scalable PLC/SCADA solutions with focus on safety and quality.
Collaborate across functions to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Develop validation documents and conform to Medical Device standards.
