Job summary

Intercars Garage Ltd on Tuam Road, Co. Galway, is seeking an experienced Spray Painter to carry out vehicle preparation, paint application, refinishing and finishing to a high-quality standard.

The successful candidate must have 2+ years of spray painting experience, work 39 hours per week, and will be paid €36,605 per annum. You will inspect, prepare surfaces, mix paints, apply coatings, and ensure flawless finishes in line with manufacturer guidelines.

Qualifications

• Essential: spray painting experience, 2+ years in the role.
• Minimum Leaving Certificate/Level 4 qualification required.
• Experience with vehicle refinishing and colour matching is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle bodywork and assess areas for preparation and painting.
• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, priming and masking.
• Mix paints and refinishing materials per manufacturer specs.
• Apply primer, basecoat, clearcoat and other coatings with spray equipment.
• Perform spot repairs, panel refinishing and full resprays as needed.
• Polish, buff and finish painted surfaces to high quality standards.
• Ensure finishes are free from runs, dust, orange peel and colour mismatch.

Intercars Garage Ltd is seeking an experienced and skilled Spray Painter to carry out professional vehicle preparation, paint application, refinishing, and finishing work at their business at Riverside Industrial Estate, Tuam Road, Co. Galway

The successful candidate will be responsible for restoring vehicle bodywork to a high-quality finish in accordance with manufacturer standards and company procedures.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicle bodywork and assess areas requiring preparation, repair, priming, painting, and refinishing.
• Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling, masking, and priming damaged or repaired areas.
• Mix and prepare paints, primers, fillers, hardeners, and other refinishing materials according to manufacturer specifications.
• Match paint colours accurately using colour codes, paint systems, and colour-matching techniques.
• Apply primer, basecoat, clearcoat, and other automotive coatings using spray guns and related equipment.
• Carry out spot repairs, panel refinishing, blending, and full vehicle or component resprays as required.
• Ensure painted surfaces are smooth, even, and free from defects such as runs, dust, orange peel, or colour mismatch.
• Carry out polishing, buffing, and final finishing of painted surfaces.
• Inspect completed work and identify and rectify any paint or finish defects.
• Work closely with vehicle body repair technicians and other garage staff to ensure repairs are completed efficiently and to the required standard.

Required Skills and Experience

• A minimum of 1-3 years’ experience as a Spray painter essential
• Remuneration is €36,605 per annum based on 39 hours per week.
