MWeds in Parteen is seeking an experienced Car Paint Sprayer / Panel Beater to join our automotive body repair team. You will assess damage, repair panels, and apply primers, paints and finishes to achieve professional standards.

The role requires practical experience with panel beating, welding, surface preparation and color matching, with a focus on safety and quality in a busy workshop environment in County Clare. 40 hours weekly.

Job Title: CAR PAINT SPRAYER / PANEL BEATER

Location: Unit 3, Larkins Cross, Parteen, County Clare V94 7X40

Hours of Work: 40h per week

Job Description:

  • - Assess accident damage and vehicle bodywork to determine the appropriate repair and refinishing requirements.
  • - Remove, repair and replace damaged vehicle body panels and structural and non-structural components.
  • - Straighten, reshape and align damaged panels and vehicle bodywork using appropriate panel beating and body repair techniques.
  • - Carry out welding, cutting, grinding and finishing work where required as part of vehicle body repairs.
  • - Fit and align repaired or replacement panels, ensuring correct positioning, panel gaps and body alignment.
  • - Prepare vehicle body surfaces for painting by sanding, filling, grinding, cleaning and masking.
  • - Apply primers, sealers and undercoats to prepared surfaces as required.
  • - Match vehicle paint colours and mix automotive paints according to the required specifications.
  • - Apply base coats, colour coats and clear coats using professional automotive spray-painting equipment.
  • - Operate spray booths and associated painting equipment safely and effectively.
  • - Inspect painted surfaces and carry out polishing, blending, touch-ups and other finishing work where required.
  • - Reassemble vehicle panels, trims and fittings following completion of body repairs and paintwork.
  • - Carry out final quality checks to ensure body repairs, panel alignment and paint finishes meet the required professional standards.
  • - Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
  • - Comply with all relevant health and safety procedures when carrying out body repairs, welding, surface preparation and spray painting.
Requirements
  • Previous professional experience as a Car Paint Sprayer, Panel Beater, Vehicle Body Repairer, Vehicle Paint Technician, or in a similar automotive body repair and refinishing role.
  • Practical experience in vehicle body repair, including panel removal, repair, replacement, straightening and alignment.
  • Practical experience in automotive surface preparation, including sanding, filling, masking and priming.
  • Experience in automotive colour matching, paint mixing and professional spray painting.
  • Ability to use panel beating tools, body repair equipment, welding equipment, sanding tools and automotive spray-painting equipment safely and effectively.
  • Good knowledge of vehicle body repair methods, materials and automotive refinishing processes.
  • Ability to assess vehicle body damage and determine appropriate repair methods.
  • Ability to achieve accurate panel alignment and high-quality paint finishes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to professional repair standards.
  • Good knowledge of workplace health and safety procedures relevant to vehicle body repair and automotive paint spraying.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
