Job summary

Kids Inc. in Barefield NS, Ennis, Co. Clare, is seeking a Part-Time Afterschool Sports Coach for the 2026/2027 term-time schedule. The role runs Monday to Friday, 2:30pm–5:30pm, with the potential for holiday hours and a guaranteed minimum 10 hours per week.

You will deliver fun, age-appropriate activities that help children develop physical skills, confidence and teamwork in a positive, inclusive environment. Garda Vetting and references are required.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching sports to children is preferred.
• Ability to plan and deliver activities for varied ages.
• Willingness to Garda Vetting and references.

With over 25 years of experience in childcare, Kids Inc. is one of Ireland's leading providers of Early Years and Afterschool Care. We operate over 70 onsite Breakfast and Afterschool programmes nationwide, alongside our Creche and Preschool services.

We are currently recruiting Part-Time Afterschool Sports Coaches to join our service in Barefield NS for the 2026/2027 school term.

About The Role

As an Afterschool Sports Coach, you'll deliver fun, engaging and age-appropriate sports activities that help children develop their physical skills, confidence and teamwork.

You’ll create a positive and inclusive environment where children can stay active, learn new skills and have fun after the school day.

Please note: This role is Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-5:30pm during term time, with the ability to work during school holidays.

What You'll Be Doing

• Planning and delivering fun, engaging sports activities for children
• Supporting children's physical development, confidence and teamwork through sport
• Creating activities that are suitable for different ages and abilities
• Developing activities focused on skills development and confidence building
• Encouraging children to participate and try new activities in a positive and inclusive environment
• Building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Supporting the day-to-day running of the afterschool programme
• Maintaining a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for all children

What We're Looking For

• A qualification and/or previous experience in sports coaching or a related field
• Previous experience working with children is preferred
• A positive, enthusiastic and reliable attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A genuine interest in sport and supporting children's development
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging activities for children
• Willingness to complete Garda Vetting and reference checks
