Job summary

Collins McNicholas Recruitment is seeking a Solar Technical Surveyor to carry out on-site property assessments for residential and commercial Solar PV installations across Leinster. You will evaluate roof structures, shading, space, and electrical compatibility, and document findings to support design and installation teams.

The role requires site-based work in Louth and surrounding Leinster locations, with a focus on accurate measurements, customer communication, and adherence to safety

Qualifications

• Experience in surveying, construction, electrical work, or Solar PV installations.
• Good understanding of building structures and basic electrical systems.
• Strong attention to detail with problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site property assessments for Solar PV installations.
• Assess roof structure, orientation, shading, and space for solar panels.
• Identify locations for inverters, batteries, and electrical equipment.
• Take accurate site measurements and photos during surveys.
• Record survey findings in the CRM system.
• Assess existing electrical infrastructure and required upgrades.
• Explain proposed installation plans to customers professionally.
• Document site-specific challenges and constraints.
• Produce detailed survey reports for design/installation teams.
• Ensure assessments meet company procedures and safety standards.

Job Title:Solar Technical Surveyor

Location:Louth (field-based role across Leinster)

Our client, a leading provider of solar energy solutions in Ireland, is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Property Assessor/Technical Surveyor to join its growing Solar Division. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality renewable energy solutions across both residential and commercial sectors.

The successful candidate will play a key role in carrying out pre-installation property assessments to support the successful planning and delivery of Solar PV systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct on-site property assessments for residential and commercial Solar PV installations

• Assess roof structure, orientation, shading, and available space to determine suitability for solar panel installation

• Identify suitable locations for inverters, batteries, and associated electrical equipment

• Take accurate site measurements and photographs during each property survey

• Record all survey findings, technical details, and site notes accurately within the company CRM system

• Assess existing electrical infrastructure and identify any upgrades or additional works required

• Clearly explain proposed installation plans and answer customer queries in a professional manner

• Identify and document any site-specific challenges, risks, or installation constraints

• Produce detailed survey reports to support the internal design and installation teams

• Ensure all assessments are completed in line with company procedures, Health & Safety standards, and relevant industry regulations

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience in surveying, construction, electrical work, or Solar PV installations is preferred

• Good understanding of building structures and basic electrical systems

• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills

• Comfortable working at heights and in outdoor environments

• Full clean driving licence
