Job summary

Astute People is partnering with a leading renewables provider to recruit a Solar O&M Technician for its Irish operations. The role offers a salary up to €50,000 plus a company van, fuel card and door-to-door payments with overtime opportunities.

Qualified Electricians with Level 3 qualifications and a valid Irish driving licence are encouraged to apply. You will work across Ireland, performing O&M duties while ensuring HSE compliance and ongoing asset optimization.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in electrical installations minimum.
• 18th edition wiring regs.
• C&G 2391 or equivalent preferred.
• HSE qualification desired.
• Experience in solar or BESS environment highly preferred.
• Irish driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Ensure best performance of large-scale solar assets.
• Perform operations and maintenance across Ireland sites.
• Adhere to all HSE requirements when completing duties.
• Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues.
• Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to diagnose issues.
• Gain Authorized Person status after training.
• Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems.
• Analyze data to spot trends and suggest improvements to operations.
• Occasional solar panel cleaning, ground maintenance and site CCTV tasks.
• Occasional travel outside patch to support business needs.

The Solar O&M Technician role comes with a salary of up to €50,000, plus van, fuel card and door to door payments, plus the opportunity for overtime.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting To The Area Manager You Will

• Ensure the best performance of large-scale solar assets
• Perform operations and maintenance duties across the portfolio of solar sites across Ireland.
• Ensure adherence to all HSE requirements when completing your duties
• Test both DC and AC systems, looking for faults and tracing issues
• Conduct firmware updates and use computer systems to look for issues with the assets
• Gain Authorised Person status after received training
• Consistent inspection, maintenance and testing of the systems
• Looking for trends and using data analysis to see if you can spot any common trends and suggest ways to improve operations as a result
• Occasional assistance with tasks such as solar panel cleaning, some ground maintenance and site CCTV
• Occasional working way from your patch/area and be flexible to help when the business needs

Professional Qualifications

• Level 3 in electrical installations as a minimum
• 18th edition wiring regs
• Ideally you will have C&G 2391 or equivalent
• A HSE qualification is desired
• Experience within a solar or BESS environment is hugely preferred
• Irish driving licence is essential

Personal skills

The Solar O&M Technician role would suit someone who is:

• Flexible with location and in travelling outside of your patch on occasion
• Experience liaising with third parties and troubleshooting
• Experience reading, writing and assessing RAMS is hugely beneficial
• Someone who wants to learn and make a genuine difference

• A starting salary up to €50,000 depending on experience
