We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our OTC Enhanced team. The ideal candidate combines strong quality engineering and automation expertise with a solid understanding of capital markets and OTC trading workflows. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the quality, stability, and scalability of complex business solutions across Charles River and State Street platforms. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can independently drive testing initiatives, identify quality risks, and collaborate effectively with Product, Development, Business, and QA teams across global regions. Hands‑on experience testing modern web applications, APIs, and complex system integrations, coupled with a passion for automation and continuous improvement, is highly desirable.
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Own and execute test strategies for OTC Enhanced initiatives, ensuring comprehensive functional, integration, and regression coverage.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for UI, API, and end-to-end business workflows.
- Write detailed test cases and test scenarios covering OTC trading and post‑trade business processes.
- Partner with Product Management, Development, and Business teams to review requirements and ensure testability of new features.
- Lead end‑to‑end integration testing efforts across Charles River, State Street, and third‑party applications.
- Perform functional, automation, regression, and exploratory testing while maintaining appropriate audit and release evidence.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and help resolve complex functional and production issues.
- Analyze application, database, and integration‑layer behavior to identify root causes of defects.
- Continuously improve test automation coverage, testing processes, and quality metrics.
- Participate in release readiness activities and provide quality assessments and risk evaluations.
- Act as a subject matter expert for assigned business workflows and mentor team members on quality best practices.
- Develop a deep understanding of the Charles River IMS platform and OTC Enhanced product capabilities.
Education and Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of software quality assurance and test automation experience.
- Experience working with enterprise‑scale financial software applications.
- Strong understanding of OTC trading, post‑trade processing, or capital markets workflows.
- Familiarity with OTC products such as swaps, FX, derivatives, fixed income instruments, or other complex financial products.
- Experience testing modern web applications, including React‑based user interfaces or similar SPA frameworks.
- Hands‑on experience with test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent technologies.
- Experience testing APIs and service‑oriented architectures.
- Strong SQL and database validation skills.
- Experience working with complex integrations across multiple applications and platforms.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing practices.
- Knowledge of SDLC, Agile Scrum, and quality engineering best practices.
- Experience with Charles River IMS is highly desirable.
- Experience with ETL tools such as Kettle is a plus.
