Job summary

Red Hat is hiring a Software Engineer Intern in Ireland to work on AI agent orchestration infrastructure, including OpenShell, Kubernetes, and OpenShift. The role includes learning from engineers, collaborating in an agile team, and contributing to open-source projects during a paid, full-time internship starting January 2027.

You will work in Waterford or Dublin with flexible hours, gain hands-on experience in cloud-native infrastructure, AI tooling, and security, and present learnings at Lunch

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in accredited university program in Republic of Ireland during full duration of internship.
• Willingness to learn and grow in AI, cloud-native infra, and security.
• Experience with scripting languages and version control (Git).

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering tasks under guidance from experienced engineers.
• Join an agile development team (scrum/kanban).
• Collaborate with engineers to deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot issues and improve code quality.
• Contribute to open-source projects and community.
