Job summary

Whatnot is building a leading live-commerce platform with a global footprint. The Financial Platform team drives the core systems for earnings, fees, costs, and cross-border charges, handling billions in monthly volume.

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design and own reliable financial systems, enable new markets, and balance correctness with speed. You will partner with product, finance, and operations, owning projects end-to-end, with a flexible work model including Dublin hub proximity.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of software development experience building scalable systems.
• Experience with payment systems and international commerce is a plus.
• Comfort with multiple programming languages and ownership of projects from inception to production.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own reliable financial systems that support billions of dollars in transaction volume.
• Develop scalable infrastructure to launch new markets and products.
• Make thoughtful trade-offs across correctness, reliability, speed, and scalability.
• Own projects end-to-end from problem understanding to launch and iteration.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, finance, and operations to solve complex financial problems.
• Shape architecture and technical direction of Whatnot’s financial platform as the business scales.
