Job summary

Fin is seeking a Staff Engineer to shape the technical direction of our web platform. You will own the architecture, drive scalability, and partner with marketing, design, data science, and analytics to ensure performance and reliability across our web surfaces.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience in a high-scale growth-focused web environment.
• A track record of technical leadership and influencing direction across teams.
• Deep expertise in Next.js and the React ecosystem.
• Experience with headless CMS platforms such as Contentful or Sanity, including content modeling and multi-site architecture.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), cloud platforms (AWS, CloudFront, S3), and deployment platforms (Vercel).
• Experience designing or operating experimentation infrastructure — A/B testing frameworks and event instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of web analytics and data instrumentation — Google Tag Manager or similar.
• Comfortable with full-stack codebases; frontend architecture awareness valued.
• Experience in continuous delivery environments with high-quality shipping.
• Exceptional communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• A mentorship mindset to raise engineering excellence across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the architecture of Fin's web platform.
• Define the long-term technical strategy for the web team, focusing on scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with marketing, design, analytics, and data science to support goals with accuracy and speed.
• Lead and influence the design and implementation of MarTech systems for event tracking and experimentation.
• Partner with engineers across web, infra, and data to build a cohesive technical ecosystem.
• Mentor and elevate engineers across the team and organization with guidance on architecture and best practices.
• Set the standard for reliability, maintainability, code quality, and operational readiness.
• Provide technical leadership to Engineering Managers, Product Managers, and executives; communicate risks and opportunities clearly.
• Contribute hands-on to the codebase and help unblock key projects.
