Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited seeks an SDE-I to own the lifecycle of code from design to deployment. You will design, develop, and optimise virtual machine monitors for serverless and container workloads, contributing to Firecracker and related open-source hypervisors at global scale.

You will collaborate across teams to build scalable virtualization infrastructure powering AWS services such as Lambda and Aurora, while following CI/CD practices and participating in on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or above in a STEM field with graduation between Aug 2026 and Nov 2026 or recently graduated.
• Experience with C/C++, Linux, and kernel-related development or drivers.
• Familiarity with virtualization concepts and cloud-native architectures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise virtual machine monitors for serverless and container workloads.
• Contribute to Firecracker and open-source hypervisor technologies at global scale.
• Build and maintain virtualization infrastructure powering AWS services like Lambda and Aurora.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Amazonians to design, build, and operate innovative products.
