Job summary

Amazon Development Centre Ireland Limited seeks a Network Development Engineer to build and operate our extensive cloud networking. You will learn tools, services and components and collaborate to deploy scalable solutions that power AWS infrastructure.

You will work on automation, reliability and ongoing improvements, applying innovative approaches to reduce manual work while maintaining security and performance at massive scale.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Bachelor's with relevant experience in large-scale networking.
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Ruby, Perl) and networking fundamentals.
• Experience developing engineering, deployment, or operations mechanisms for IP networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering, implementation, scalability, operations and sustainability of next‑gen networks.
• Develop automation and mechanisms to reduce manual operations at Amazon scale.
• Analyse network with tools and metrics to ensure safe, correct operation.
• Investigate issues thoroughly and fix root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Plan, deliver and simplify new systems, processes and tools for customers.
• Deliver sustainable, repeatable solutions and remove bottlenecks.
• Explore and implement new networking systems safely within AWS environments.
