Job summary

Cisco Systems, Inc is seeking a Software Architect for the Cisco dCloud Demo Platform and Automation team. You will design, build, and operate cloud-native demos and automation services across private datacenters and public cloud, leveraging Go, Python, Kubernetes, and AI tools.

You will influence architecture, write design documents, review designs, and set standards while maintaining reliability and security. This is a remote-first, globally distributed team with strong collaboration tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, plus 10+ years in software engineering including 3+ years designing distributed systems across on-premises datacenters and public cloud (e.g., AWS)
• Production development experience in Go and Python
• Experience running containerized services on Kubernetes (e.g., EKS) with GitOps (Argo CD, Helm), CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and Terraform or similar IaC
• Experience designing APIs, SDKs or libraries used by other teams
• Professional experience with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor)

Responsibilities

• Design solutions across the dCloud platform and build, run and support them
• Shape technical direction as an individual contributor influencing partner teams
• Build libraries and APIs used by content developers to ship reliable demos faster
• Create MCP servers and catalog chatbots to make demos easier to find and run
• Ensure demos start reliably, new ones ship faster, and AI agents can run automation
