Job summary

Avista Community Residential Roscrea in North Tipperary/South Offaly is seeking a Social Care Worker for permanent full-time, part-time or relief contracts. The role focuses on supporting people with intellectual disabilities in a person-centred, community-based setting under a rights-based ethos and New Directions framework.

Applicants should have QQI Level 7 in Social Care or equivalent with CORU registration or application, a full clean Irish driving licence, and fluency in English.

SOCIAL CARE WORKER

*Salary subject to Relevant Public Sector Experience and pro-rated for hours of work.

• QQI Level 7 (or higher) qualification in Social Care/Applied Social Studies or equivalent, the award must be considered eligible for CORU registration.
• Up to date CORU registration/ Confirmation of application for registration submitted to CORU
• Full clean Irish manual driving licence.
• Experience of working within the area of intellectual disability and those who have behaviours of concern.
• Proficiency in the English language.
• To adopt a holistic and person centre approach to your role to ensure people are supported to live their best lives and an awareness of New Directions.
• Willingness to support persons to develop skills and competencies around identified areas of interest and learning.
