Job summary

Corlann – West Region in Galway seeks a Social Care Leader to oversee day‑to‑day operations of the BEO Services at Galway City & County. The role requires a relevant social care qualification and CORU registration, plus a minimum of three years’ experience with intellectual disability services.

You will lead a frontline team, ensure personalised, rights‑based support, and drive service improvements in a dynamic, person‑centred setting.

Qualifications

A relevant 3rd level qualification in the Social Care or Health Sector and registration in the Social Care Workers Register (CORU) or eligible via Section 91 route.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working with people with intellectual disability. Experience with behaviours that challenge is desirable.
Experience in goal setting and programme implementation is essential.
Experience in Day Services or Creative Arts is an advantage.
Supervisory/leadership experience is an advantage.
Must understand person-centred planning and the New Directions model of day support services.

Responsibilities

Lead day‑to‑day management of the service and provide local leadership and supervision.
Ensure services are delivered in a person‑centred way and reflect core values.
Demonstrate strong leadership, planning and goal setting and review processes.
Manage and supervise a staff team and work in partnership with service users.
Be flexible with working hours in line with the service model and on‑call commitments.
