Job summary

Marymount Care Centre in Lucan, Co. Dublin, is seeking a compassionate Social Activities Co-ordinator to lead a resident-focused activities programme within a nurse-led, person-centred care team.

You will work with the activities team to plan and deliver engaging events, document participation, reflect residents’ interests, and ensure activities are inclusive and supportive of wellbeing in a HIQA-compliant setting.

Qualifications

• A caring, creative, and proactive individual with a passion for working with older persons.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, person-centred activities.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the activities team to deliver a varied and engaging programme of events and activities
• Develop and contribute to a weekly activities schedule, ensuring residents and staff are well informed
• Encourage and facilitate active resident participation, incorporating resident feedback and preferences
• Organise and participate in outings that reflect the interests and diversity of residents
• Build meaningful relationships with residents by understanding their life stories and individual needs
• Maintain accurate records of participation using electronic systems (Epic touch screens)
• Support the development of personalised activity plans for new residents
• Ensure all activities are inclusive, stimulating, and promote wellbeing
• Assist care staff where required in delivering high-quality resident care
• Promote a positive, respectful, and team-focused work environment
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation within activity spaces
• Demonstrate knowledge of HIQA standards for residential care settings
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development

The Role
